ele"V"ate - Value

What would you pursue if time and money were no longer obstacles? Finding ways to infuse value and meaning into your daily routine can foster a deeper sense of purpose and aid in navigating life's transitions with greater ease. Aligning your choices with your core values not only empowers you but also grants more control over your emotions and relationships. Equally important is recognizing when you are out of alignment and taking steps to recalibrate. Acknowledge that values evolve with life stages and experiences, learn to sense the changes in your mood or body when something is off. One of the advantages of growing older is the ability to combine our knowledge with our experiences, leading to more effective problem-solving and stronger relationship building.

Ways I am choosing to add value to my life include self care, not only with healthy lifestyle choices but also cultivating confidence….facing my fears, building resilience, worrying less what others think. Elevate Aging has been a great example of how I’m choosing to make this chapter of my life more meaningful. Tackling social media is one example of a challenge I am trying to overcome and gain comfort with. I hope this transformative experience continues to force me to
push boundaries and enhance my self awareness.

There are many ways to start with just small steps. Sometimes activities as simple as decluttering a space in order to create a calm environment for reading or practicing mindfulness
can make a huge impact. Designating time each day for reflection, gratitude, setting goals or creating a to do list can provide you with a sense of accomplishment and control. Choose a calming activity before bedtime that doesn’t involve tv or your phone. Examples might include sitting or walking outside, reading a book, yoga, taking a bath, listening to music, writing in a journal.

Another great example of adding value to one’s life is shifting the focus on to others. Helping those in need, donating time, goods or money to a cause that is meaningful, mentorship,
“adopting” a neighbor who may be lonely or housebound. Still not sure where to begin? Discover your “why.” Understanding the reason behind your actions will help you to create connections and give you a sense of direction.

Living a life of purpose has the power to inspire those around you. It leads to healthier relationships by enhancing emotional and mental strength, fostering greater empathy, and reducing loneliness.
